In an English Country Garden...

Can't quite believe it, Warwickshire Open Studios has been and gone already.

16 days of exhibiting, chatting, selling, painting, setting-up, taking-down, all in the company of several arty friends and over 600 visitors - what could be nicer?

Everything is packed away ready for the next event, but there is nothing quite like Open Studios, and there is nowhere quite like St Gregory's, Offchurch in which to exhibit - I just love it. With that in mind, there are plans afoot for another art event at the church. Details to follow, either here or on our Facebook page WOSOffchurch.

And alongside the exhibiting artists, there was a chance for our visitors to participate.

The English Country Garden panel was a huge success. I designed it as a collaborative work, the village craft group created the foundations and oversaw the work, and everyone else contributed flowers over the course of the exhibition.

The fabulous finished panel has been auctioned in aid of the church kitchen/toilet fund - with luck, it might mean we no longer need to fetch the water from the tap in the churchyard, or fight off the spiders in the village car park toilets! I should say, these are very minor inconveniences compared to all the pleasures of exhibiting at the church. Roll on next year!!
